Jazz on a Summer's Day is a stylish and summery report of the Newport Jazz Festival of 1958. A musical era of America long gone.
1958: Newport, Rhode Island is the summer backdrop for the annual jazz festival in this small town on the east coast of the United States. In addition to a registration of the performances of musical greats such as Louis Armstrong, Thelonious Monk, Mahalia Jackson and Chuck Berry, Jazz on a Summer's Day also paints a striking picture of the stylish American fifties. Director and experienced photographer Bert Stern not only intimately portrayed the artists and their music, but also filmed the visitors, the environment and passers-by with the same passion.
Jazz on a Summer's Day is an atmospheric musical report of a summer day in times long gone, fully restored in 4K.
